Sugar babe watermelons are a perfect size for smaller families—and easy to fit into the refrigerator. The fruits have thin, tough rinds that become almost black when ripe. This heirloom variety was introduced in the 1950’s and is widely adapted throughout many parts of the United States. It takes sugar baby watermelons 85 days to mature.
